Dr. Glenn Woodley, DPM, FACFAS, DABPM, FASPS, FACPM
PODIATRIST/FOOT & ANKLE SURGEON
Dr. Woodley grew up in NEPA. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. Following this he spent 4 years in medical school at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia where he graduated with high honors and was 5th in his class. Subsequently Dr. Woodley returned to Scranton, PA to complete his surgical residency under the tutelage of Dr. Guido LaPorta, a globally recognized leader in the specialty of foot and ankle surgery, at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, a level II trauma center. During residency, Dr. Woodley completed over 2,500 lower extremity surgical procedures with an emphasis on all areas of foot, ankle, and leg surgery. Dr. Woodley is also extensively trained in the conservative and surgical treatment of diabetic conditions affecting the lower extremity including limb salvage. As a part of his residency, Dr. Woodley completed a 2-month rotation at The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics: Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, under the direction of Dr. John Herzenberg. This rotation focused on complex deformity correction in children and adults. After residency, Dr. Woodley relocated to Florida to pursue an opportunity to contribute and advance the growing need of lower extremity trauma and reconstruction services in Collier County. After 3 years in Florida he decided to return to Pennsylvania and use his growing knowledge to assist the NEPA community.
Dr. Woodley is triple board certified. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, board certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and board certified in Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
He is an experienced, highly accomplished medical professional with demonstrated achievement in providing quality, evidence-based care in dynamic clinical and surgical settings. He excels as an approachable, thoughtful team leader and consummate patient advocate. While he appreciates the reward of surgical approaches, he firmly believes in an initial stepwise conservative approach prior to any surgical intervention.
His areas of special interest include: foot and ankle fracture repair, minimally invasive procedures, joint replacement, arthroscopy, foot/ankle reconstruction, regenerative medicine, Charcot, limb deformity correction with external fixation, and sports medicine.
Dr. Woodley has been active academically contributing to podiatry literature in the form of publications, manuscripts, and peer reviewed journals.
During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife (a Honesdale native), hunting, golfing, skiing, and considers himself a history buff.
